The Blantyre Oscars” is a fantastic annual glittering extravaganza for the town of Blantyre, South Lanarkshire!!

First held in 2017, the annual event Celebrates local Music & Entertainment, Local Business, Youth Organisations, Environmental Pride, Inspirational Individuals, Lifetime achievements and Heroism & Kindness in our community. The event is organised and hosted by Mr Paul D Veverka volunteering in his spare time from community group, Blantyre Telegraph not just for the purpose of celebrating these accolades achieved by Blantyre people of all ages, but also to raise money for local good causes.

In April 2018, Blantyre Oscars organiser, Mr. Paul Veverka received Holyrood recognition from the Scottish Government, with cross party support, instigated by Clare Haughey MSP, now a Scottish Minister.

This was very much appreciated and highlighted further awareness throughout Scotland and beyond, of this fantastic, annual charitable awards.
