Information for Award Nominees

Q. What time do I need to be there?
A. Nominees should be at Blantyre Carrigans Function suite on Saturday 24th March 2018 at 7pm before it starts at 7.15pm.

Q. Do I need to bring or do anything?
A. No! You don’t need anything and don’t need to do anything, or say anything. You may wish to say thanks if you win the award, its up to you, but don’t feel obligated. Its YOUR night, for you to enjoy.

Q. Do Nominees have to pay for tickets?
A. Absolutely not! As a nominee, you and one other person (family or friends) will have their tickets paid for already by the table sponsors. This includes your buffet.

Q. Can my family and friends buy tickets?
A. Yes! Of course. Family, friends and colleagues may buy tickets from this website only. On a first come first served basis once they go on sale towards the end of January 2018.

Q. Where do Nominees sit?
A. Nominees and their plus one, will sit at the Nominees special table, paid for by sponsors. Following the awards ceremony being finished around 9.30pm, a buffet dance will take place and people may sit anywhere they wish for the rest of the evening.

Q. Are Children allowed to come along too?
A. Yes. Absolutely! Its a family evening.

Q. What do Nominees win?
A. There are 3 nominees in each of 5 categories. Therefore 15 nominees. 5 winners will be chosen, one from each category. Nominees will win a fantastic quality, engraved award and certificate. Runners up will win a bronze medal.

Q. How are Winners Chosen?
A. Entirely by the Public. The general public will be able to view nomination videos and vote for them exclusively here on this website (www.blantyreoscars.com) You can only vote for each category once, so feel free to tell your friends and family. The nominee with the most votes by the time votes close, will win on the evening. Results will be hidden from the General Public during the voting process, but revealed in detail at the Blantyre Oscars Awards Ceremony.

Q. Will I be posted out tickets?
A. No. As a nominee, you and your plus one are already reserved and on the guest list. Your places were be reserved with a name marker at your designated table.

Q. What will I wear?
A. It’s not a black tie event, but we would like everybody to come along smartly dressed. Suits/dresses/shirts/ties/blouses/skirts/trousers. Feel free to wear kilts if you want.

Q. If I win an award do i have to make a speech?
A. Of course not! It’s up to you. You will be asked if you want to “say a few words”, which can simply be “thanks to everybody who voted me”, or you may want to choose to say something longer, or perhaps just say “thanks” and go back to your seat. It’s entirely up to you!

Information for Guests

Q. What time do I need to be there?
A. Guests should be at Blantyre Carrigans Function suite, seated on Saturday 24th March 2018 for the event starting at 7.15pm. Why not come along a little earlier?

Q. Do I need to bring or do anything?
A. No! You don’t need anything. Just enjoy yourself!

Q. Do Guests have to pay for tickets?
A. Strictly yes! Guests MUST have purchased their tickets in advance and been added to the guest list. Guests coming along on the evening who have not purchased tickets from this website, will not be permitted. The event is expected to sell out.

Q. Where do Guests sit?
A. We’ll try to ensure guests who book together are all seated together. This may not always be possible during the awards ceremony from 7.30pm until 9.30pm, but after that time, guests may sit wherever they want for the dance and buffet.

Q. Are Children allowed to come along too?
A. Yes. Absolutely! Its a family evening.

Q. Is there a bar?
A. Yes. Absolutely! With affordable prices and late license.

Q. When does it finish?
A. At 1am, although the dancing may finish slightly earlier at 12.45 to pack up for 1am.

Q. What can we expect as ticket holder Guests?
A. A fantastic Awards ceremony to view, celebrating all of Blantyre’s finest! A DJ will later be providing music, they’ll be a 7 item buffet for each person, raffles, prizes and great company!

Q. Will I be posted out tickets?
A. No. As a guest, you will be on the guest list using the names you provided when you purchased the tickets. Your places were be reserved with a name marker at your designated table. No tickets are sent out.

Q. How do I vote for my favourite nominee?
A. You can do that right here on this website! Voting opens on 30th January 2018 and will be live all throughout February, closing at the end of the day on 28th February 2018. Your vote is anonymous, you can only vote once (the system checks!), and the results are not visible or given to anybody until the actual awards ceremony on 24th March 2018.

Information for Sponsors

Q. What time do I need to be there?
A. Sponsors should be at Blantyre Carrigans Function suite on Saturday 24th March 2018 at 7.00pm. A small briefing will be given ahead of the event starting at 7.15pm.

Q. Do I need to bring or do anything?
A. No! You don’t need anything. Just enjoy yourself!

Q. Do Sponsors have to pay for tickets?
A. As a Major Sponsor, you get TWO free tickets within your sponsorship. Your business should be represented by TWO people on the evening. This is important. If you need further tickets, they can be bought on this website.

Q. Where do Major Sponsors sit?
A. The TWO sponsor representatives from each business will sit at the same table as the nominees. Each Major sponsor will be allocated a Category by us. As such, you will have nominees from that category at your table.

Q. When does it finish?
A. At 1am, although the dancing may finish slightly earlier at 12.45 to pack up for 1am. Sponsors are free to leave at 9.30pm after the ceremony but are most welcome to stay until 1am and enjoy themselves as is included in the major sponsorship prices.

Q. What is a Table Sponsor?
A A table sponsor is a secondary sponsor who paid to put their name of their business on the table only. No tickets are allocated to table sponsors. Major sponsors also get their name on their table as part of their sponsorship package.

Q. What can we expect as Sponsor representatives?
A. You represent your business at the awards ceremony. You are free to enjoy the whole evening from beginning to end including the dance and buffet. At one brief point in the evening, you will be called up to the podium to open a “golden envelope” and expected to read the words on the card, which may be limited to “And the winner is….”.

Q. Do Sponsors know who each winner is?
A. No! Nobody will know who the winners are until the golden envelopes are read out.

Q. Will I be posted out tickets?
A. No. As a Sponsor, you and a fellow representative will have TWO tickets reserved on the guest list . Your places were be reserved with a business name marker at your designated table. No tickets are sent out.

Q. What will I wear?
A. It’s not a black tie event, but we would like everybody to come along smartly dressed. Suits/dresses/shirts/ties/blouses/skirts/trousers. Feel free to wear kilts if you want.
